A report providing an independent, comprehensive review of the natural history of wild boar (Sus scrofa) on the island of Ireland. This review is in direct response to the uncertainty surrounding the natural history of wild boar in Ireland which was brought to the attention of the public by Invasive Species Ireland in their policy position statement and invasive species action plan for this species (Invasive Species Ireland 2011a,b).
