NIEA hosted a conference for stakeholders on 'Working in Partnership to Deliver the Water Framework Directive' at the CAFRE Greenmount Campus in Antrim on Saturday November 25th.
There was a series of talks from the Department of Agriculture Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), Northern Ireland Water, Donegal Catchment Care, Queens University Belfast and Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute. The afternoon consisted of parallel workshops on citizen science, funding, invasive species, restoring rivers, assessing invertebrates, accessing data, a visit to a constructed wetland and the Greenmount farm. Workshops were facilitated by DAERA, Northern Ireland Environment Link, Queens University Belfast, Rivers Restoration Centre and the College of Agriculture Food & Rural Enterprise (CAFRE).
