The RSPB Reserve on the Lower Lough Erne Islands supports nationally important populations of breeding waders.
Species like curlew, lapwing and snipe are ground nesting, and particularly sensitive to disturbance. As part of our commitment to safeguarding these species we would ask lough users to refrain from accessing the foreshores of islands listed below during the period of 15th March- 15th July:
- Humphrey’s
- Trasna
- White South
- Horse
- Rabbit
- Hare
- Cruninish
- Muckinish
- Roscor
