NIEA have determined that the Applications for Abstraction and Impoundment listed below require advertisement under Regulation 9 of the Abstraction and Impoundment Regulations 2006.
-AIL/2024/0008 and AIL/2024/0009
Applications have been made to the NIEA an Agency of the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs for authorisation under the Water Abstraction and Impoundment (Licensing) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006.
Dalradian Gold Ltd applied for authorisation for two abstraction and impoundment (listed below) at the proposed Curraghinalt Mine, adjacent to 80 Mullydoo Road, Greencastle, County Tyrone, BT79 7QP (E258418, N383902) Applications were submitted to NIEA on the 26th July 2024 and deemed complete on the 29th July 2024. DAERA directed the applicant to advertise the applications on 30th July 2024.
Anyone wishing to make a representation on the new applications must do so in the 28 day period of the date of the advertisement.
It is important to note that these are new applications, Dalradian Gold have withdrawn the previous applications AIL/2024/0003 and AIL/2024/0004 for water abstraction and impoundment licences at the proposed Curraghinalt Mine, adjacent to 80 Mullydoo Road, Greencastle, County Tyrone, BT797QP.
Representations on previous applications (AIL/2020/0105, AIL/2020/0106, AIL/2024/0003 and AIL/2024/0004) will not carry over to the new applications. However, anyone who has made representations in respect of the former water abstraction and impoundment applications for this development may, within the 28 day period from the date of the advertisement, resubmit their previous representations quoting the application numbers AIL/2024/0008 and AIL/2024/0009.
