Appointment of a Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson to the Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside (CNCC)
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) is seeking to appoint a Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson to the Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside (CNCC). The CNCC provides independent advice to the Department (DAERA) on matters affecting the Countryside and Nature Conservation and Areas of Special Scientific Interest (ASSIs) with due regard to matters affecting agriculture, forestry and inland fisheries.

About these positions
Time commitment and remuneration: The Chair role requires approximately 48 days per annum and is remunerated at £10,364 per annum (under review). The Deputy Chair role requires approximately 33 days per annum and is remunerated at £6,964 (under review).
Period of appointment and commencement date: It is anticipated that the successful candidates will be appointed for a three-year period by 1 March 2025.
Closing Date: Completed applications must be returned to the Department by Midnight on Thursday 31 October 2024.
