Co-Centre Programme
A Collaboration for Transformative Research and Innovation
DAERA’s Science Evidence and Innovation Policy Division in partnership with Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) is pleased to announce that the Co-Centre Programme is now open for applications.
The Co-Centre Programme is a new strategic collaborative partnership between Ireland, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, co-funded by industry, which will consolidate research activities across higher education and research institutes in co-hosted Centres.
The programme will support large-scale, virtual Centres with the aim of strengthening the research and innovation base within Ireland, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, building strategic partnerships across these regions to support a competitive economy and addressing societal and environmental challenges.
Co-Centre Thematic Areas
The Co-Centre Programme will be open to collaborative proposals focused on high-quality research and innovation within the areas of:
- Climate; and
- Sustainable and resilient food systems.
Applications for DAERA funding must fit within the Department’s Legal Authority and align with relevant policies and strategies, found here.
The closing date for applications via SFI is 16th March 2023, 13:00 Dublin Local Time.
Webinar
A webinar outlining the Co-Centre Programme 2022 call and its application process, hosted by SFI, will take place on Thursday 8th December 2022.
